DSLPX Discoteca Sound
Between the late ’60s and the mid-’80s, Italy created its own parallel story to American disco — spontaneous, surprising, and uniquely creative.
Discoteca Sound - Italian Discoteca Underground 1975-1986 explores two defining eras: the melodic, handmade Italian disco of the 1970s and the electronic, futuristic rise of Italo Disco in the 1980s. Eighteen rare tracks — including two previously unreleased — trace that transition, from lush orchestral grooves to early drum-machine experiments. Sourced from private archives, forgotten labels, and regional studios, Discoteca Sound maps an Italy that always danced to its own rhythm.
Celebrating ten years of Disco Segreta, this release restores a vital, still overlooked chapter of Italian disco and Italo disco heritage — proof that dancing is, above all, an act of living memory.
